Using Breeze
To connect to a Breeze class, simply click the "Live Breeze Class" link on the
course page for the class you wish to attend. You will see a login page. You
must use the "Enter as a guest" login option.
After choosing to "Enter as a guest", you will be asked to type in your name.
Please type your first and last name.
Once you connect, you may need to adjust your connection speed, if you have a
slow connection or the class audio is breaking up. You can do so by selecting "Meeting" from
the top menu and then "My Connection Speed". Modem is the slowest connection
and LAN is the fastest.
In Breeze, there are different sections or "pods":
The camera/voice pod is where you will see and hear the presenter(s). By hovering
your mouse over the video window, you can mute the microphone or turn off the
camera of any of the presenters. If you're having audio problems and you've already
adjusted your connection speed, turn off the camera. This will maximize bandwidth
for the audio.
The chat pod allows you to send messages to the the classroom presenter, or to
everyone in the class. You can choose which one of these your messages go to,
but you cannot send private messages to students. If you are having technical
problems, please send a message to the presenters and not to everyone.

Note: If your professor requires you to use a camera to present in
class, you should read the instructions for setting
up your camera in Breeze.
The other pods are not pictured. They include, for example, the PowerPoint /
whiteboard
pod, the class-list pod, and polling pod.
